A New Low

President Bush's approval rating hit a new all-time low today at 31%. George's little war is leaving quite the bruise on his legacy. Let's just hope an anti-Bush sentiment helps democrats at the polls in November.

A New Favorite Show

Thanks to my Netflix subscription I've become quite additcted to HBO's Six Feet Under. I just finished season one and am looking forward to seasons two through five.

A New Stadium Twist

The Minnesota senate passed bills today for new stadiums for the Twins, Vikings and Gophers. The catch - oh of course there's a catch, this is Minnesota politics we're talking about - is that none of the bills resemble the bills passed in the house. So now a committee has to have a conference call and work out the kinks, which probably won't happen.

Gas Rebate Check Reaction

Republicans are toying with the idea of giving taxpayers a $100 rebate check to ease the pain of high gas prices. While I wouldn't reject the check if it shows up in my mailbox, I have to say I think it's a rather ridiculous idea. A $100 check really isn't going to help most middle and low class families. That $100 would last me about two weeks at the pump. Paying outrageous prices at the pump is just another crappy fact of life. You take the good, you take the bad, you take 'em all.
