Harold Reynolds Fiasco and Other ESPN Complaints
ESPN has announced that Harold Reynolds is no longer with the network. Two rumors have surfaced about why Reynolds was fired. One being sexual harassment and other being that Reynolds blew up in a production meeting over the network wanting to push the A-Rod story - that he is breaking down mentally, that the Yankees might trade him, etc.
I liked Reynolds on Baseball Tonight and so I'm a little peeved to see him go, but that's not really the point of this rant. ESPN has gotten out of control with bringing up possible scenerios and discussing them at length when there is no validity what so ever to them.
First they start throwing out the idea that the Yankees might trade A-Rod which is absolutely ridiculous. They had everyone talking about it. PTI and Around the Horn dedicated a segment to it. Sports Center and Baseball Tonight were talking about it. First off, why would the Yankees trade A-Rod and secondly who the hell is going to take that contract?
Then today they flash up on the screen "Will Reggie Bush miss the entire season?" What the F***? It's July for christ sake! The first pre-season game hasn't even taken place. Most teams aren't even in training camp yet. Last time I checked very few first round draft picks had signed with their teams.
If ESPN doesn't stop trying to make news instead of reporting the news I'm going have to start watching even less than I already have.
